LONG ISLAND, NY, UNITED STATES

Nicholas Rocco is the founder and creative director of the Babyface Art Supply & Design Co. Rocco works as a professional graphic designer and fine artist living on the south shore of Long Island, New York. Following the lineage of thought to emerge from the Jeffrey K. Fisher school of drawing (Smithtown), Rocco fuses the eye of technology, and the eye of man together to create a collaboration reminescent of improvised live jazz. Much of Rocco's subject matter is informed by the human figure and it's experience of subjective life, current events, and time. As most works of Rocco's are found in a mixed medium, the instruments that which make the mark become almost lyrical to aide in the interpretation of a world that lay between literal, and abstract.

LONG ISLAND, NY, UNITED STATES

Maggie Carine is a freelance artist from Long Island, New York. Through Carine’s work as an artist and art therapist, her goal is to explore the intersect between art and healing. Carine’s process of painting is a meditative practice, guided by repetition and symmetry. The process includes consistent reoccurring lines and mirrored forms, repeating themselves like a mantra, to create a single, complete image. Carine’s artworks traditionally start with a single line and from there a pattern emerges. Once the pattern is determined, she repeats it again and again, allowing the unconscious mind to develop a form from the many lines. Carine’s process is more than simply creating artwork, but what allows her to attune the inner self to the present moment. The repetitive nature of the work allows it to naturally become a reflective period in which one can examine the self, as well as reference the patterns of everyday life. Carine has been selected for group shows at Stony Brook University, where she minored in studio art; as well as Pratt Institute, where she received her Master’s in Art Therapy. Carine also independently curated a group show at a vineyard location in Eastern Long Island, which featured local artists and musicians. Carine has been featured in solo shows around Eastern Long Island as well. Carine seeks to connect her artist self and therapist identity, to ultimately inspire others to find inner peace, happiness, and healing through awakening the innate power of self-expression.

Amanda Cappabianca is an artist and a teacher from the east end of Long Island. She’s inspired by European architecture, interested in the visual relationships between remarkable angles and features of the structures. She takes various perspectives and places them in her work to create a whole new space for her viewers. Her work evolved recently, she explores liquid in her abstract water reflections. The changeability is different from her previous work, but opening up a world of expression. The organic features and intrinsic movement is something that she is familiar with; growing up boating, surfing and swimming in the ocean. She graduated from the College of Saint Rose in Art Education. In addition to oil painting she has taken up soldering jewelry and painting murals. Her artwork has been featured in Westhampton Beach Library, the Mary O. Fritchie art show and the Guildhall Members Exhibition.
